WorkSafe commissioned MartinJenkins to conduct research on health and safety in the agency work industry (also called labour hire). This is the first time WorkSafe has sought research specifically on the health and safety of agency workers.

The report provides a description of the industry, its forecasted growth, health and safety risks for agency workers, and the management of these risks between agencies and host companies.

The agency work industry is a substantial employer of workers in New Zealand, with workers hosted across many industries.
