Court Summary - at a glance
- Consult with other PCBUs about the scope of their health and safety duties; and
- Co-ordinate activities with other PCBUs about the risks of the scaffold and how they were to be managed.
The victim was working on a scaffold that consisted of unsecured timber planks. The scaffold was only checked inadequately and infrequently. Three of the planks uplifted and the victim slipped and fell six metres to the ground, his head landing in a small landscaped area, barely missing the concrete. He suffered a laceration to the top of his head, an abrasion to his right cheekbone and bruises along the outside of his abdominal wall and broken bones.
