At the end of his shift, the victim walked through the warehouse to collect his jacket and was hit by a turning forklift which trapped him against shelving on his left side, crushing his body against the racking and running over his foot.
The victim spent 35 days in hospital and re-admitted due to issues with infection. He had 15 surgeries in the 15 months following his accident. He suffered from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
